We are looking for a highly motivated architect with a strong interest in computational design and digital fabrication with an architectural or advanced technical degree. We expect good programming skills (preferably Python or C#), experience in CAD/CAM and/or robotic fabrication. An interest in mathematics, mechanical and structural engineering is desirable. You should be fluent in English, show a high level of initiative and enjoy working in an interdisciplinary research team.

Gramazio Kohler Research – The Chair of Architecture and Digital Fabrication at the Department of Architecture – invites applications for a fully funded full-time PhD position to further investigate the Mesh Mould process. Mesh Mould is an innovative digital design and robotic fabrication process for non-standard concrete elements, which unifies formwork and reinforcement. The research project is situated within the interdisciplinary National Centre of Competence in Research (NCCR) Digital Fabrication. The PhD position starts in August/September 2019.
Applicants must hold a Master’s degree acquired at university level (equivalent to the FHEQ-Level 7) in architecture or related fields.
