Curtin University is seeking a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer for a research and teaching role in the rapidly growing discipline of Mechatronic Engineering based at the Bentley (Perth), Western Australia campus. The successful candidate will develop and deliver curriculum in the rapidly growing undergraduate and postgraduate coursework degrees, undertake research related to Mechatronic Engineering, and supervise honours and postgraduate research students.

The School of Civil and Mechanical Engineering is a collegial working environment, undertakes outstanding theoretical and applied research, and runs highly regarded and popular teaching programs at the undergraduate and postgraduate level.
You will supervise honours project students as well as higher degree research students (PhD or Masters).
As a researcher, you will develop a program of collaborative research in areas of strategic significance to the School and University, particularly in relation to the fields of robotics, automation and control, and their applications in space, medical sciences, agriculture and resources.

The position is located on the Bentley Campus of Curtin University, but may involve collaborations with Curtin campuses in Malaysia and Dubai or education partners in Sri Lanka. The position will involve engaging with collaborators, industry partners both locally and internationally and developing funding proposals.
Essential Requirements
- PhD in area related to Mechatronic Engineering
- Bachelor of Engineering in Mechatronic, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
- At least 2 years’ experience at tertiary level in relevant engineering course development & delivery
- Excellent record of research in Mechatronic Engineering related fields
Desirable Requirements
- Specific research interests related to robotics and autonomous systems
- Track record of the delivery of practical research projects in collaboration with industry
- Professional experience in engineering industry
- Excellent software development skills, programming experience in C/C++/C# and/or Python, experience with Robot Operating System (ROS)
$99,530 - $118,115 (ALB) plus 17 superannuation
$121,829 - $140,416 (ALC) plus 17% superannuation
