The Australian Packaging and Processing Machinery Association (APPMA) Board in conjunction with exhibition organisers ETF have decided to postpone AUSPACK 2021, scheduled in Sydney next May.

Australia’s biggest packaging and processing trade show has been re-scheduled for Melbourne in May 2022.

“With an event of this scale and significance, the most important factors in our decision included the uncertainty around protecting the health and safety of our industry community,” the organisers said in a media statement released today.

Continuing uncertainty around state-border openings, and the probability that international flights will not be allowed until the second half of 2021 contributed to the decision.

“The APPMA Board felt we could not deliver this experience to the same high standards as those previously experienced.

“Moving the event to 2022 was, therefore, the right thing to do from the perspective of members, exhibitors, sponsors, attendees and the industry.”

APPMA Awards and Industry Conference

The last edition of AUSPACK in 2019 at the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre was a record show, surpassing all expectations.

Melbourne 2022 is ideally placed to provide the scale and breadth of event that our industry needs as it gears up for the post-COVID recovery.

APPMA Chairman Mark Dingley said no decision has been made regarding the 2021 Business and Industry Conference and APPMA Awards, to be held in conjunction with the packaging exhibition.

A further announcement is expected soon.
