Submissions are now open for the 2018 Packaging and Processing Innovation and Design Awards (PIDA) to be held in Queensland next year.

These prestigious awards recognise organisations that have designed innovative packaging and processing materials, innovative packaging and processing machinery/equipment in these manufacturing categories:

1. Food
2. Beverage
3. Health, Beauty & Wellness
4. Domestic & Household

Hosted by the Australian Institute of Packaging (AIP), the Australian Packaging & Processing Machinery Association (APPMA) and the Packaging Council of New Zealand, PIDA acknowledges companies and individuals who are making a significant difference in their field in Australia and New Zealand.

The awards will be held alongside the International 2018 Worldstar Packaging Awards as a highlight of the 2018 AIP National Conference to be held at the Marriott Hotel, Surfers Paradise from May 2-3 next year.

In each of the four main categories an award will be given for:

• Materials & Packaging
• Packaging Machinery/Equipment

Also, there will be two company awards available for all nominees within each of the four award categories:

• Sustainable Packaging & Processing Award
• Save Food Packaging Design Award.

The Individual awards will recognise people whose have made specific contributions to the packaging and processing industry.

Individual Awards include:

• Young Packaging & Processing Professional of the Year
• Industry Packaging & Processing Professional of the Year
• The APPMA Scholarship and the Packaging Council of New Zealand Scholarship 

The scholarship offers one person from Australia and New Zealand the opportunity to enrol in the Diploma in Packaging Technology, an internationally recognised and accredited course. The APPMA Scholarship will be for Australian Applicants and the Packaging Council of New Zealand Scholarship will be for New Zealand Applicants.

PIDA applications close February 23, 2018.
