Swiss based company Stäubli has launched a new range of collaborative robots.
The T2X-60 and T2X-60L are 6-axis robots designed for machine loading, assembly and product testing as all other collaborative robots on the market.
The new cobots feature Stäubli’s traditional internal routing for streamlining and to reduce the cable management in harsh environments.
The robot has quite a small reach (850mm) and payload (3.5kg) but the company says the new range is “redefining performance” with the optimum balance of speed, rigidity, size and envelope.
Their unique features mean they can be used in all areas, including sensitive and restrictive environments.
Stäubli has joined a growing band of global companies now focussed on the rapidly growing collaborative robot market.
It follows the release of collaborative robots from Fanuc and Motoman in recent years.
And ABB, the leading power and automation group, recently acquired Gomtec GmbH to expand its collaborative robots offering.
Gomtec’s technology platform will strengthen ABB’s development of a new generation of “safe-by-design” collaborative robots that can be operated outside of cages or protective fencing, expanding opportunities to deploy them in new applications.
