Universal Robots will showcase its latest range of collaborative robots at Australia’s largest manufacturing show, National Manufacturing Week in Melbourne next week.

Visitors will have the chance to experience the UR series robots (UR3, UR5 and UR10) in a number of interactive displays and presentations.

“This is the first time Universal Robots has participated in a major exhibition in Australia,” said Universal Robots General Manager for South East Asia and Oceania, Shermine Gotfredsen.

“Our team is looking forward to meeting Australian manufacturers and sharing with them the benefits and immense value collaborative robots can bring to workers and businesses both in the short-term and for the life of the business

“Collaborative robots are a safe, affordable investment for SMEs that are looking to automate with robots. We believe in making robots accessible to everyone and we want to put automation back into the hands of the people,” Ms Gotfredsen said.

During the four-day exhibition Universal Robots will be involved in several educational presentations and displays that will focus on the specific safety features, flexibility, ease of use and simple programming of the collaborative robots.

Show visitors will be greeted by a UR5 cobot at the Universal display stand and can experience the whole robot family live in multiple applications.

Solving hundreds of challenges

Universal Robots Regional Head of Technical Support for South East Asia and Oceania, Andrew Pether, said visitors would see first hand, how easy it is to implement a Universal Robot.

“Collaborative robots solve hundreds of manufacturing challenges faced by manufacturers daily.

“At National Manufacturing Week, we’ll be showcasing three applications – a welding, press machine tending and pick and place application each of which will highlight how fast and easily these robots can be deployed and how safe they are to work alongside employees.

“We want visitors at the exhibition to see exactly what’s possible for their business,” Mr Pether said.

Additional educational activities and live demonstrations will also be running during the exhibition period to give manufacturers the chance to learn more about this technology.

National Manufacturing Week will be held at the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre from May 9-12.

Live demonstrations of the UR3, UR5 and UR10 will be held at the Universal Robots stand, 2526 on Tuesday from 12pm to 12.45pm and on Friday May 12.
