To improve their work-life balance, Australians are willing to embrace robots that can help with household chores, new research shows.
Of those surveyed, 64% would welcome a robotic house cleaner to provide more leisure time – and that figure increases significantly in 30-39 year olds (74%).
And those in the age group of 30-39 would most want to spend their newly found free-time with family.
Most (58%) don’t need to understand how the technology works, so long as it does the job and saves them time.
The findings come as ECOVACS launches its new range of smart home robotic solutions, comprising a range of robotic vacuum and window cleaners with technological innovations not yet seen in Australia.
The research shows a dirty house increases stress levels for 80% of those surveyed, with women more stressed about having a dirty house than men.
And of those surveyed, home cleaning – or the lack of it – causes 35% to argue at least twice a year (20% at least four times a year).
Of those who are dating, 60% said a messy home would be a “deal-breaker” for a potential partner.
But don’t worry, help is at hand.
This strong desire to achieve a work-life balance – and cut stress levels – means more families across the globe are now turning to robotics to provide more leisure time.
Australian launch of new workbots
The research findings has spurred ECOVACS ROBOTICS, a global leader in home robotics, to accelerate its push into the Australian market with the launch of its new 2018 range.
“We have a vision of a robot helping every Australian family, freeing up time from cumbersome chores such as window and floor cleaning that will enable people to do more of what they love,” says Damian Commane, country manager ANZ for ECOVACS ROBOTICS.
“And we are very hopeful Australians will embrace the innovation we are introducing.“
ECOVACS ROBOTICS, a Chinese technology company, with a strong presence in more than 40 markets, will market its products in Australia through leading retailers including Harvey Norman and Bing Lee.
Such technologies include the new DEEBOT OZMO 930, a vacuum and mop combo that cleans both hard floors and carpets and can be controlled anywhere in the world with the smart ECOVACS App.
Creating a map of your home, virtual boundaries can also be set through the app, giving you total control of the clean, while you can monitor and instruct the DEEBOT OZMO 930 no matter where you are.
Cordless robotic window cleaner
Such innovative cleaning solutions are not confined to the floor.
ECOVACS also offers a first-of-its kind cordless robotic window cleaner, the WINBOT X.
Launched at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas earlier this year, Australia will be one of the first countries to sample the new product.
WINBOT X is programmed to move freely along the window as it cleans, determining the best cleaning path to ensure the entire window is covered.
It can be used on the interior and exterior and is ideal for high rise apartments and hard to reach domestic and commercial windows.
And WINBOT X can be used for other applications such as cleaning the screens around domestic swimming pools.
“The end goal is simple,” says Mr Commane. “To save a significant amount of time spent on household chores and help deliver time back to busy Aussie families.”
The Australian ECOVACS ROBOTICS range includes:
DEEBOT OZMO 930 (RRP $1,299)
The innovative DEEBOT OZMO 930 tackles both the vacuuming and mopping of floors in one with its patented OZMO technology. The ECOVACS ROBOTICS App gives you total control from your pocket.
You can schedule a clean, set the cleaning mode, and monitor the cleaning status from anywhere in the world. With Carpet Detection Technology it knows when to mop, and when to stop.
The DEEBOT OZMO 930 can be voice controlled through Google Home and Amazon Alexa.
DEEBOT OZMO 610 (RRP $899)
The DEEBOT OZMO 610 is also equipped for both mopping and sweeping.
Hair, dirt, and debris are no challenge for the DEEBOT OZMO 610. With selective cleaning modes for various messes, the DEEBOT OZMO 610 uses the right tool for the job every time. With the ECOVACS ROBOTICS App you can schedule and monitor a clean from anywhere in the world.
DEEBOT R98 (RRP $1,399)
The DEEBOT R98 features both a revolutionary robotic vacuum and a cordless hand-held vacuum to cover the highs and lows of the home.
The 2-in-1 robotic vacuum cleaner cuts cleaning time in half.
This multi-functional cleaning robot goes through a five-stage cleaning system for an effortless clean, sweep, lift, vacuum, mop and dry in a single pass.
Attached to the robotic charging station is the hand-held vacuum cleaner and an array of attachments for an integral home clean.
WINBOT X (RRP $TBA)
A CES 2018 Innovation Award Honouree, the WINBOT X is a first-of-its-kind cordless robotic window cleaner. Powered by its internal battery, it can be used indoors and outdoors.
With WINBOT X you can throw out that squeegee.
It is able to move freely along windows as it cleans without needing to be redeployed, the robotic cleaner navigates across glass using a tether system. The WINBOT X will stay safe if it detaches, with a warning signal sounded to start retracting if a problem occurs.
This may include a robotic air purifier, which is ideal for people with medical conditions or poor air quality in their homes.Mr Commane says ECOVACS ROBOTICS has ambitious plans to roll out some exciting new products in Australia in coming months.
This mobile air cleaner can be programmed to clean certain rooms – such as bathrooms, kitchens or bedrooms – at regular times.
Just watch this space, says Mr Commane.
