At this stage, the companies have not released details of the role the robots will play.
Late last year, LG Electronics announced a major restructuring with two new divisions – in robotics and autonomous vehicles.
The new divisions are under the direct supervision of the CEO.
Robotics investments
LG showcased new robots earlier this year at CES in Las Vegas and is developing a smart cart with a local supermarket chain. The smart cart is designed to follow customers around the store without needing to be pushed by the customers.
In 2017 LG Electronics unveiled its new Hub Robot that uses Amazon's Alexa to communicate with other household smart devices.
It is now being used extensively in Incheon International Airport to help guide guests.
Also, LG has invested in Nova Robotics, a company that makes shelf-scanning robots Walmart.
Earlier this year, LG rival Samsung unveiled a robotic arm that assists with cooking in the kitchen.
