A capacity crowd attended a special Omron seminar in Sydney this week to learn more about new Industry 4.0 technology.
More than 40 guests gained a valuable insight into how the latest technology can help them prepare their businesses for the fourth industrial revolution.
Presenters Gene Kenji (Omron application engineer) and Robert Lloyd (Omron senior engineer), explained how companies can create a true integrated development environment – all controlled by one platform – Omron’s Sysmac Studio automation software.
Created to give machine developers complete control from a single environment, Sysmac Studio integrates configuration, programming, simulation, and monitoring in a simple interface.
The presenters demonstrated how this advanced software tool can streamline factory production.
It’s the sole software required for the NJ-Series machine automation controller, bringing together logic, motion, and vision onto a single platform.
Using Omron’s Sysmac Studio platform, attendees learned how their businesses can boost throughput and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
Sysmac Studio provides simple and clear adjustments for task settings as well as powerful performance evaluation tools.
Once a configuration is chosen, program timing can be monitored to ensure optimal operation.
The Task Execution Time Monitor can be used during simulation to display execution times before downloading to the physical controller. This allows the user to predict the operation of the machine before implementation, rather than responding to unexpected behaviour during commissioning.
